Preston Steel -  

Preston Steel is a saxophonist and music enthusiast from Highworth, Wiltshire, UK. He got involved with Pop-A-Top around 2006. He got his name when speaking to the press about his DJ nights he was running at the famous 'Galway Bay' pub. This venue is now a Chinese restaurant. During 2006, 2007 and 2008 he made frequent guest appearances with The Erin Bardwell Collective at live concerts. He grew up in the 1970s and went to the Headlands school in North Swindon. He grew up on a healthy dose of Stax, Tamla and reggae. In 1979/1980 whilst listening to early UB40 and Beat he continued on with his saxophone playing. Self tort and ready to get involved in the Swindon music scene in the 80s & 90s. He was a friend of Erin Bardwells' since these times. He currently runs his own DJ soul nights in Highworth. 

He has two tracks featured on the 2007 Pop-A-Top CD Earth Scorchers (PATCD06)

• Boss Train (very popular with the 'Lick It Back' fanzine in France)
• Hot Air (a sax version over the popular 'Slaving For Bread' rhythm)

And was then a featured guest on The Erin Bardwell Collective Volume 3 - The Instrumentals! (PATCD08) in 2008

• Red Sand (over the Sandra Bell 'That's No Life' rhythm)
• Heatseize Down Blunsdon Hill & Skelly (both versions of themselves - organ & piano respectfully)
